Meet The Board

Sue Hoppe- President

Matthew Crooks M.S.W. has been working in the Human Services field for over 30 years. He received his Master's degree in Social Work from Eastern Washington University in 1993, and has worked since then in various clinical settings such as hospital, home health, and hospice since. He has been active in the philanthropic, outreach, and community organizing arena as well in Sacramento, serving on many community boards, most notably serving as Board President for the Adopt an Elder Foundation for 5 years.

"As a clinical Social Worker over these many years, I have been constantly faced with tough situations that could be solved appropriately with adequate resources. But, currently, there are major deficits in the support network for elders and families facing difficult healthcare choices. Adopt an Elder is a SOLUTION to meet these difficult needs that are not currently met. It is pro-active, community-based, and focused on meeting these specific needs. I have been proud to support and assist the many adoptees AAEF has helped over the last 19 years."

Shelly Coyne- Vice President

Shelly is a certified administrator for residential care facilities for the elderly. She joined Life Options For Seniors in 2015 as a senior care consultant. She has always had a passion for working with older adults. Shelly is committed to helping older adults. Her desire to do so has led her to join the Walk to end Alzheimer’s committee in 2016, The Adopt an Elder Foundation Board in 2017 and The Elder Services Network advisory team in 2018. When Shelly is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 kids. She also enjoys cooking, gardening, arts, and crafts and traveling.

Eileen Bonomo-Kingston- Treasurer

Eileen started her career in the Publishing and Printing industry for 20 years in San Jose, CA.  During that time was Treasurer and Board member for Valle Monte League - charitable organization for Alzheimer's Activity Center, The Centre for Living with Dying, Services for Brain Injury, and Family and Children Services.

Moved to Roseville with family and transitioned into the Senior Living Industry in 2011, currently Community Relations Director for Sierra Ridge Memory Care.  Making the switch to Senior Living changed everything.  I have a different attitude toward life.  No awards or recognition can compare to getting a hug from a resident or earning his or her appreciation and thanks....melts my heart!

Cyndi Dolan- Secretary

Cyndi Dolan joined the Adopt an Elder board in 2017.  She first began working with seniors in 1992 and has worked in both skilled nursing and assisted living communities.  Cyndi currently works for Sunrise Senior Living as a Director of Sales.  Her passion has always been working with seniors, the elderly, and their families and has been her only career path, outside of being a mom.  Cyndi lives in Granite Bay, with her husband Steve, and their 3 busy teenagers.  She is an active member of Bayside church, and when Cyndi’s not at one of her kids’ activities, she can be found on their little farm, taking care of their many goats, chickens, and ducks.  She says she’s honored to be part of such a wonderful foundation that helps low income and at-risk residents find, and stay in, safe comfortable communities.

Pam Murphy- Assessment Coordinator

Pam worked for the Area Agency on Aging for Santa Clara County as a Volunteer Coordinator for the Friendly Visiting Program for 3 years, later becoming Coordinator of the Registry for In-Home Support Services (IHSS) for the AAA of Santa Clara County for 2 years. When Pam moved to Roseville, she found herself again drawn to the senior care industry, working as a Marketing Director in an Assisted Living community for 5 years.  In 2010, she joined Senior Care Consulting where she currently assists families in need with placement and services. Her passion for working with seniors led her to join up with Adopt An Elder in 2014, as the Adoptee Assessment Coordinator.
